21c Chicago and Shall We Wine are excited to present two films featured at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

The first film, Employee of the Month, written and directed by Goga Clay, winner of the Emerging Filmmaker Showcase Best Short Film, is about Ibinabo, a young husband and father-to-be, lives an unremarkable but exemplary life. He strives to prove himself to his boss, but gets caught up in the horrors of the October 2020 protests against police brutality.

The second film, was written, directed and produced by award winning 16yr old Anah Ambuchi. Her sophomore film debut titled #DTMUS “Don’t Tell Me Ur Sorry” is inspired by true events which follow two African American teens who experience the pandemic in two different lights.

Following the screening, Regine T. Rousseau will conduct an interview with each Director before a Q&A with the audience.
